At Hair Intentions, we are always thrilled to welcome new members to our team, and today, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Holly Prince, our newest addition! Holly is joining us as a HITO hairdressing apprentice, and we couldn't be more excited about the fresh energy and talent she brings to our salon.
We sat down with Holly to learn more about her background, aspirations, and what she hopes to bring to our salon. Here's what she had to say:
Q: What made you decide to get into the hairdressing industry?
Holly: I've always wanted to do something in the beauty industry, and hairdressing caught my eye the most. There's something magical about the way you can transform someone's look and make them feel beautiful.
Q: There are a few different ways to learn hairdressing. Why did you decide to enroll as a HITO apprentice?
Holly: HITO sounded like the best option for me because instead of sitting in a classroom, I am able to learn and work at my own pace. Being in a salon allows me to gain real experience and understand how a salon operates, which is invaluable for my growth as a hairdresser.
Q: What do you look forward to most about hairdressing?
Holly: The thing I look forward to the most is seeing the end result and making people feel beautiful. It's incredible to see the joy on someone's face when they look in the mirror and love what they see. It's a rewarding feeling to know that I played a part in their happiness.
Q: Are there any trends or techniques that you just can't wait to learn?
Holly: I'm really excited to learn different curling techniques and master the use of various tools. There are so many creative ways to achieve different styles, and I can't wait to explore them all.
Q: You've just started this week, but what have you already been learning?
Holly: I've already started learning how to shampoo, tone, blow wave, and do dry styling. I've been getting experience in inventory management, customer service, and handling bookings and retail checkout. I've also been involved in packing online orders and taking photos for our social media platforms.

Q: What are your long-term plans for hairdressing?
Holly: My dream is to open my own home salon in the future. Right now, I want to soak up as much knowledge as I can about hairdressing, learn different techniques, and gain experience working with a diverse clientele. This will help me build a solid foundation for my own business down the line.
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself, your family, hobbies, favorite things, etc.
Holly: I am 15 years old and part of a family of five, not including our dog and cat! I have lived in this area my whole life, so joining Hair Intentions feels like a natural fit for me. Outside of hairdressing, I am passionate about dancing and have participated in numerous competitions both in and out of school.
